Silently she slumbered on the thin Dafne tree
Up high at the tops for all creatures to see
To absorb the life giving rays
And consume the diurnal rains of the forest,
Where water pools seep around faery circles.
At dawn, when the fog broke away
There, the leaves showed the way.
They came
Nearer.
Inwards with roaring metals
On the path of petals.
No one will survive the massacre
Destruction must occur
A Dryad’s death will bring forth wealth.
